Our team

We have built up an unrivalled team of support staff and drivers, who are dedicated to looking after our customers, some of which we have had for over 30 years.

Our sales team and account managers can advise which one of our extensive fleet of coaches is right for you. In addition to this they can help with any further requirements you may have including itineraries, ferries, on-board refreshments, and airport meet and greet services.

Our drivers are the customer facing part of our business, so it’s essential that they meet and exceed your expectations when you hire a coach from us. We are proud to have a team of experienced and knowledgeable drivers that are dedicated in providing just that, so that your travel with us is truly an enjoyable and memorable experience.

History

As a progressive and fast moving business we are always keen to look to the future, however sometimes it’s good to look back and see where it all began, and how we became established as one of London’s best known coach operators.

Here are some important and significant datelines in our history

1986

Westbus PTY of Australia, owned by the Bosnjak family, takes over Swinards Coaches, Ashford, Kent and ADP Travel Services of Hounslow to form Westbus (UK) Ltd

1987

An order for six new groundbreaking Jonckheere, and Van Hool single, twin-deck, and double decker coaches is placed, with a further order for 12 new coaches in 1988/1989

1992


Ashford, Kent depot is closed, and the coach operation is focused on the busy London depot at Hounslow.

1995

Biggest coach booking ever undertaken by Westbus. 118 coaches were assembled to transport supporters to and from a Spain/Italy cup match at Wembley.

1999

Westbus PTY of Australia is sold to National Express Group, with the deal including Westbus (UK) Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary.

2001

Westbus celebrates 15 years of successful operation in the UK.

2005

Westbus PTY of Australia becomes part of a joint venture between Cab Charge Australia and the Comfort Delgro Corporation. Westbus (UK) Ltd becomes Westbus Coach Services Ltd.

2006

Westbus takes over Armchair Coaches and the business becomes one of London’s largest quality coach operators.

2009

Westbus has its most successful year and puts huge investment in to some of the best new vehicles available within the marketplace, with further new vehicles delivered in 2010.

2011

Westbus celebrates 25 years of operating coaches in the capital.

2014

Westbus has its most successful year on record. It grows to a fleet of over 42 vehicles.

2016

Westbus celebrates 30 years of operating coaches in the capital.

2018

The business moves in to a larger purpose built depot and Head Office at Hayes, West London, next to Heathrow Airport. This enables to centralize our offices, fleet parking, fleet maintenance, washing and fueling all on one site.

2020

The Covid 19 worldwide pandemic has a devastating effect on all aspects of travel including coaches as the country is put in to lock down. The business undertakes a small amount of essential travel bookings with most staff put on to the Government Furlough scheme. Home to school travel returns in September and we take delivery of two new ADL E400 double decker’s in a new burgundy and gold colour scheme.

2021

The pandemic continues with the business undertaking small amounts of private hire and essential travel. All passengers have to wear face masks and be socially distanced, and coaches receive additional cleaning and sanitisation.

2022

The pandemic is over and normal travel starts to resume, with small amounts of incoming group travel starting to return. To celebrate, Westbus takes delivery of 4 new stunning Mercedes-Benz executive coaches, which are also the first single deck coaches in the new colour scheme.
